Gaming enthusiasts have an exciting year ahead, with Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat 1, and Guilty Gear Strive’s third season. The beat ’em up frenzy is set to continue until early 2024, fueled by Bandai Namco’s Gamescom 2023 announcement of Tekken 8’s release on January 26th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, now available for pre-orders.

Tekken 8, the series’ tenth installment, boasts a diverse roster of 32 fighters, signaling the dawn of a ‘new Tekken saga’ alongside the passing of the iconic antagonist, Heihachi Mishima. Adding to the excitement is the introduction of Arcade Quest, an innovative single-player mode akin to Street Fighter’s World Tour.

Here, players create custom characters and compete in virtual arcade-based Tekken tournaments, adding a layer of meta-reality to the gameplay.

Excitingly, Tekken x Street Fighter, a sequel to the 2012 title Street Fighter x Tekken, has been confirmed by Tekken creator Katsuhiro Harada and former Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono.

This announcement emerged during the EVO 2023 fighting game tournament, where Harada and Ono teased fans about their intriguing ‘homework,’ sparking wild excitement among the crowd.
